Austin “Undefeated”
A Short Happy Life….
So one of my favorite short stories is by Ernest Hemingway. “The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber.” It is a story about a middle-aged man that until the final moments of his life lived a long and unhappy “unrealized” life. The point of the story is that Francis only truly found happiness moments before his death, when he found the courage to take his own shot.
In helping create this memorial video for Austin I came to realize that although Austin was only able to live a short life it was a FULL life. His life was filled with amazing family and friends. It was a life of passion, compassion for others, and never giving up. The way Austin lived his life was an example to us all and made him our HERO.
Through Austin we learned:
- Life is short
- Live with passion
- Empathize more and deeper with others
- Show compassion for others
- Be brave enough to take a shot
- Work to be regret free
- Live happy
Always keep fighting and live life “Undefeated.”
